We have to remove the entire exhaust system, heatshields, undertrays, propshaft, complete rear axle system, fuel tank, pipes, filler neck, carbon cannister, and over 1. We first apply an all- purpose- cleaner to the dirty floor, scrub with small brushes, and then gently clean with a Karcher indoor steam cleaner to expose a perfectly clean floor free of dirt, oil, grease and road film: Next the cracks are identified and centre punched, then we remove the underseal and primer around the subframe threaded floor mounts and the common area's we have identified by carrying out our Repair & Reinforcement process over several years: We then inspect (even using a magnifying glasses in some cases) the entire rear floor pan which includes spot welds, creases, folds, threaded mounts - you name it - we've seen it AND will inspect it: Once we've identified all issues, we number them with pen and take picture to add to the repair procedure documentation which you receive. Cracks will then be 'stop- drilled' to help stop them in their tracks. Then the cracks will be welded over fully to contain the separation. Then smoothed back carefully to allow our reinforcement plates to sit flush against the subframe threaded mount on the floor. Our precision cut reinforcement plates will then be fully welded to the floor to strengthen the area, help contain any cracks, take away pressure from spot welds, and spread the torsional loading & unloading energy over a much greater surface area - thus reducing the risk of ever having the issue again. Rear Subframe Reinforcement Plates have been fully welded, we use a high build etch primer to coat the bare metal and offer a strong base protection: Then a Wurth OEM seam sealer is spray- applied finely over the whole area as well as a heavy seam bead over the weld lines to stop any water or moisture sitting on the plates.
